Very fine and exceptionally strong, cultivated silk, also called Bombyx silk or mulberry silk, is produced from silk worms in captivity, feed only mulberry leaves. The silk is 10-13 microns and very white. Cultivated silk is both smoother and stronger than Tussah silk, which is produced by silk worms in the wild.
